Key Responsibilities: Open Lab Support & Supervision: - Oversee open lab sessions, ensuring a structured and safe learning environment.
- Monitor students during lab/class practice, providing assistance with equipment setup and exercise techniques as needed.
- Enforce lab policies and safety protocols.
- Report any concerns or issues to faculty or the department supervisor.
Equipment & Facility Maintenance: - Set up and break down lab equipment before and after open lab sessions.
- Ensure that all lab equipment is clean, functioning, and stored properly.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
Student Support: - Assist students in practicing therapy techniques, positioning, and movement patterns as appropriate.
- Answer student questions and provide guidance within the scope of knowledge and training.
- Refer complex questions to faculty or licensed therapists.
Administrative & General Office Support: - Maintain attendance records for open lab sessions.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating lab sessions or departmental events.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain lab materials and supplies as directed by faculty.
- Support faculty and staff with clerical tasks, including document preparation, data entry, and record-keeping.
- Respond to general inquiries and direct students, faculty, and visitors to appropriate resources.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies for both lab and office needs.
- Provide assistance with basic office/administrative tasks as requested through the Dean’s office.
The student in this position would work roughly 5-10 hours per week. This position is temporary and is scheduled to start the first week of fall semester and last until the end of spring semester of the same academic year. The student would not be required to work over the winter break. |
