Job Description

AIC’s Student Success Advisors are dedicated to supporting and guiding our students through their academic journey. The Advisors assist with course selection and registration, helping students explore and choose the right major and minor(s), and connecting students with essential campus and community resources. Our goal is to ensure smooth and successful academic progress and having office assistants help us do this is an important part of what we do.

The Undergraduate Office Assistant (OA) is a 10-hour-per-week position for current AIC undergraduate students who receive Federal Work Study. For the 2024/2025 academic year, there are three (3) positions available (contingent on funding).

Duties & Responsibilities:

Three broad areas of duties and responsibilities will be shared among the Office Assistant's which include:

 

1. Administrative Tasks & Projects 

* Consolidating, organizing, printing, and assembling documents

* Preparing copies of course materials and assisting Canva Projects

* Assisting with walk-ins and answering phone and email inquiries as needed

* Process tasks that are in support of the Advising staff

* Troubleshoot issues within the Advising Center as they arise

2. Technology & Social Media

* In consultation with the Advising staff, help develop content that is appropriate for posting on various social media platforms    

* Encourage student participation and involvement in social media accounts

* Establish and maintain regular communication with students via various social media channels

3. Other Projects

* Receiving and sorting mail and deliveries.

* Performing other tasks that may be assigned by Advising Center Staff

Job Requirements

Qualifications

* You must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student.

* You must be able to work for the duration of the fall and spring semesters.

* You must be mature, and self-motivated, with a positive attitude.

* You must have strong organizational skills.

* You must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

* You must have computer knowledge in operating basic Windows-based programs, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

* You must be proficient in social media applications (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, Canva, Facebook)

* You must be able to complete tasks on time.

* May not work when class is scheduled even if class is canceled (no exceptions)
