Job Description

The AIC Plan for Excellence (APEX) program focuses on academic success, persistence, and retention through graduation for all undergraduate students. The Undergraduate Office Assistant (OA) is an 8 -hour per week position for the current AIC undergraduate students who receive Federal Work Study. For the 2024-2025 academic year, there is one (1) position available (contingent on funding).

Duties & Responsibilities:
There are three broad areas of duties and responsibilities that will be shared among the OAs which include:

Administrative Tasks & Projects 
* Consolidating, organizing, printing and assembling documents
* Preparing copies of course materials and assisting with setting up Canvas
* Conducting research about the best practices from other college campuses who have similar programs
* Process administrative tasks that are in support of the staff working in each of the units 
* In consultation with APEX staff, help develop content that is appropriate for posting on various social media platforms 
* Encourage student participation and involvement in the social media accounts
* Establish and maintain regular communication with students via various social media channels

Other Projects
* Receiving and sorting mail and deliveries.
* Performing other tasks that may be assigned by APEX Staff
*Update Bulletin Boards
*Design flyers for events

Qualifications: 
* You must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student who receive Federal Work Study. While we prefer those who have a Communications/VDA background, all students are encouraged to apply for the position. 
* You must be able to work for the duration of the fall and spring semesters. 
* You must be demonstrate professionalism, self-motivated, with a positive attitude.
* You must have strong organizational skills.
* You must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
* You must have computer knowledge in operating basic Windows-based programs, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Software Design Tools 
* You must be proficient in social media applications (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter)
* You must be able to use and navigate Canvas and Engage Platforms. 
* You must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner.
* May not work when class is scheduled even if class is canceled (no exceptions)
* Must be eligible for Federal Work Study
