Purpose or role of position within the organization: The Office Assistant will support the daily operations of the residence hall communities through the main office and residence hall initiatives/tasks.
Position Description
General Office Assistance:
- Provide timely work order follow up
- Update programmatic and informational signage within the residence hall
- Assist with key issues and lockouts
- Refer students to campus resources as issues/concerns arise
- Support Residence Life projects and initiatives
Preferred skills:
Time Management: ability to balance academic responsibilities, extra-curricular activities, and student employment. Ability to make project deadlines.
Critical Thinking: ability to make educated, well-informed decisions and asking for guidance when necessary.
Resource and Referral: ability to connect students to professional staff and community partners when unable to confidently answer questions and concerns.
Self- Driven: ability to start and complete tasks with minimal guidance. The Ambassador position will require a successful candidate to initiate projects independently.
Positive Outlook: ability to clearly articulate positive messages regarding Residence Life, and community partners, and AIC as a whole.
Customer Service: provide excellent student-centered services while maintaining the integrity of the Office of Residence Life and Department of Student life.
