POSITION: IT Support Center Assistant RESPONSIBILITIES: IT Support Center Assistants are critical to the IT Department during the school year. Students will work shifts that may alternate between helpdesk and computer support, as well as events and classroom technology support. We expect that students will learn and grow and work to excel at the basic knowledge areas. Once you have shown your capabilities, we may select you to work in more independent assignments. Sign up for shifts will be prioritized by skills achieved and time worked in the department. All students will be mentored at the IT Support center in good customer service which includes welcoming, answering questions, scheduling events and routing customers to the appropriate areas of IT Support. All students reflect the customer service of the entire IT Department and therefore it is essential to make sure that our customers are heard, assured that support will be provided, and asked the questions that are needed to insure appropriate routing and contact information. Some training will be required such as, FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and reading IT documentation such as, AIC Event procedures and checklists, event scheduling and Web Help Desk ticketing system, all forms of events support. Assistants will work on other projects and requests by IT staff. Project work includes but is not limited to: regular inventory of equipment, equipment upgrades, equipment status checks, and equipment software upgrades.
